Dr. Heather Smith received her Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences with a minor in Chemistry from Illinois State University. She attended the University of Maryland at Baltimore where she received her Doctor of Medicine (MD). She then completed her pediatric residency at Sinai Children’s Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. She and her family moved to the Gulf Coast where she practiced medicine in Mobile, Alabama and Ocean Springs, Mississippi for ten years before starting her own solo practice in Ocean Springs. She then moved to the DFW area where she joined Children’s Health Pediatric Group in Cedar Hill, Texas prior to joining Walter Leon M.D. P.A. in September 2018.

She enjoys spending time cheering on her two teenage sons at their football games, gardening, cooking, and reading.
